What's more romantic than tying the knot on the beach, with the sun sinking over the water in an elegant and awe inspiring backdrop? If you are looking for a relatively hassle free destination wedding, look no further than the U.S. Virgin Islands.

There are three main islands - St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas - along with fifty other scattered cays and islands for you to host your nuptials. With the American dollar being the main currency for this region, there is no worrying about exchange rates or fluctuating monies. And because it is one of the most popular destinations for tourists, air fare can be purchased fairly inexpensively.

St. Croix is the largest of the three main islands, and thus, the least crowded and boasts the best romantic sunsets. Whether you are an adrenaline junkie, or a little more reserved, there are plenty of engaging activities for the two of you and any guests. From horseback riding through the rain forest, to diving with the sea life, to a variety of stores for your shopping pleasure, something is sure to suit your fancy. Weather is best from February to August, with hurricane season starting in September.

St. John's is touted as the swankiest of the three islands, and also the most naturally undisturbed. Cruz Bay, the island's main area, is home to only a meager 3,500 people, making it the smallest of the major islands. It is only a short ferry ride from the hustle of neighboring St. Thomas, as well as many of the British Virgin Islands. From unique hiking trails to exquisite underwater diving, this island also has a variety of activities. Unfortunately, it also tends to be the most expensive of the islands due to its prestigious status. The most exciting time to visit is in early July, when a parade and celebration marks the July fourth holiday.
