Britney Spears Spot on Good Morning America Celebrates Big Day

Britney Spears has rarely been known for her singing and intentional forms of entertainment in the last few years. All the attention was on Spears' unintentional ways of entertaining us, with her various scandals and bizarre behavior. But inevitably, Britney Spears was going to come back and try to remind people that she used to be best known as a singer. Spears kicked off her comeback tour on Good Morning America today, on a very big day for her.

Today is a personal milestone for Spears on many levels. Along with the Good Morning America spot, her newest album Circus is finally released, and on her 27th birthday at that. Circus is only Spears' sixth studio album.

Spears already has a new hit off Circus, as the signature track of the album "Womanizer" is already a no.1 hit. Spears performed "Womanizer" on Good Morning America as part of her appearance, along with the title track of Circus. Fittingly, Spears performed the songs under the Big Apple circus tent, as the performance was even sponsored by Walgreens.

Spears also energized fans by announcing her first major tour in five years on Good Morning America. With tickets going on sale on Saturday, Spears' tour will span 27 cities and begin in March 2009.

The Spears tour will kick off in New Orleans on March 3, then wrap up on April 28 at Chicago. Spears will visit cities all over both the United States and Canada during these two months. Rehearsals begin for the tour in January.

Britney Spears turns 27 today, but already has as many rises and falls as a star twice her age. Any comebacks that Spears had during the last few years either didn't take, or were overshadowed by her latest antics.

This comeback is looking more likely to stick, as Spears has stayed out of bizarre trouble recently and has undergone major publicity for Circus, especially as "Womanizer" takes off on the charts. Good Morning America reaped the initial benefits of the Spears comeback this morning.

Even when Spears was not on the Good Morning America stage, she dominated commercials as celebrity fans like Hugh Jackman and Reese Witherspoon sent out video well wishes for her birthday.
