Eugene, Oregon is a great place for a visit, whether you have a loved one at University of Oregon, or just want to enjoy the lush green atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest. As Oregon’s second largest city, (the largest, Portland, is just two hours away,) Eugene has a fairly urban scene. But it is set in a beautiful wilderness backdrop, making it an ideal tourist stop.

The Valley River Inn provides an impressive combination of luxury and location. It is a resort style hotel, located right on the beautiful Willamette river. The location is quiet, but convenient: it is only minutes from downtown, and close to University of Oregon (parents, take note!) The Valley River Center, which has more than one hundred stores, is right nearby. Sweetwaters, the featured hotel restaurant, has won awards for its inventive Pacific Northwest menu. The grounds consist of well landscaped courtyards, and a beautiful rose garden. Rooms have private balconies or patios, and all have views. Beds are king or queen sized, and rooms include all the standard appliances, such as television, internet data port, phones, large work spaces, hair dryers, and coffee makers. Suites and deluxe suites are also available for those that want to upgrade from luxury to ultra luxurious.
