Valentine's Day is the perfect time to pull out some new craft ideas with the kids. These are some fun, easy crafts that can be done with preschoolers as well as older children. Kids can give gifts to friends, classmates, cousins, aunts, grandparents, neighbors, just about anyone!

Chocolate Kiss Mouse Valentine Craft

Materials:

Two wrapped chocolate kisses
2x2 squares of construction paper, fun foam, or felt
Thread (for whiskers)
Wiggly eyes
very small pom-pom (for nose)
craft glue
Scissors

Directions:
Start by cutting a 1-2 inch tall heart from paper or fun foam. Older children can cut the hearts on their own, if you're doing the project with younger children it would be smart to have the hearts pre-cut. Next step is to put the heart between the two kisses (kisses positioned bottom to bottom) and glue them. Viola, this is the mouse body and the heart shape is the ears for the mouse. Be sure to remove one of the paper tags so you can make the face. Use craft glue to attach wiggly eyes, thread whiskers and a pom-pom nose. Leave the other paper tag for the mouse's tail.
Tip: If you use paper it will speed up drying time and is easier to cut than fun foam.

This Chocolate Kiss Mouse will win over anyone!!

Candy Airplane Craft for Valentine's Day

Materials:
Thin rubber bands
Peppermint LifeSavers
Smarties
Cinnamon gum
Heart-shaped stickers

Directions:
Thread the rubber band through the holes of two LifeSavers. Next, put the rubber band up and around the ends of the gum to hold it all in place. Next take the Smarties and push it through the center across the rubber band. Viola, all you have to do now it decorate the wings with tiny heart-shaped stickers or write a small message on the wings.

Tips: Glue two sticks of gum together to make the wings sturdier.
If little fingers (on little people) are having trouble with the balancing and stretching, have one person hold the candy in place while another maneuvers the rubber band around the gum.

Pencil Mice Heart Valentine

Pipe cleaners
Decorated Pencils (you can get Valentine themed ones)
