Moving into a new place takes a lot of time and packing. The key to moving is packing everything together. You will need many boxes which are labeled. It's easiest to pack everything in an area at one time. Pack everything bathroom related and label the box. You could also pack room by room and make trips. You can then set up everything exactly how it was in your new place. It takes a while to unpack everything and set it back up. If you pack little by little, it's easier to unpack and get your new place situated. It's easiest to clean the new place before you move in. Odds are that the place was cleaned before you move in, but possibly not to your likings. You may need to paint, clean the carpets and clean the place. You can also clean your items as you unpack them. This way you can work the whole week at unpacking instead of cleaning.
The more time you have to move the better. Some places require you to be out at the end of the month. The new place is available at the beginning of the next month. Try and see which place you will be able to stay in, otherwise you will need to rent out two places for one month. Try to avoid having to pay two mortgages or rent payments.
If you are moving out of state you may need to tow a vehicle behind a large moving truck. You can get a lot of stuff in a moving truck, but probably not everything you own. Perhaps you want to sell your home furnished so that you dont have to make more trips home to get furniture.
The closer that your new place is, the easier the move will be. Remember to pack items together, so that you can find everything that you need when you need it. Buy groceries after you move in so that you do not have to move all groceries as well.
You might need to have a garage sale or rummage sale before the move. This way you can collect some money for items that are just laying around not being used. Make a pile of items you want to sell at the garage sale or possibly on ebay. You can also buy a huge storage box which is dropped off to you at your place. You pack everything into it, and the company delivers it to where you are going.
