I find this fascinating. I really do. I've been reading up on Scientology lately, perusing various websites in search of what it is they stand for, what it is they adhere to. And the results are unsettling at best. I've read most of the books in the "Left Behind" series, and the parallels between this religion and the one described within the novels are staggering. Establishes man as God? Check. There is no truth established save for that which we establish for ourselves? Check. Whatever you want to believe is fine, as there is no preset deity to worship or not worship? Check. Seriously. The posture of this "faith" is unnerving, riddled with contradictions and lies. Its not surprising it has grown to the size that it has, seeing how it seems to tell people exactly what they want to hear about themselves. And I believe that in the near future, the very near future, this "church" is going to surface as a major enemy against the Cross. Well placed and influential people already flock to it, granting Scientology a measure of status and power that most cults could never dream of. And the ambiguous nature of this establishment allows it room to grow, to breed, to enfold different sects and cults that, while they may not call themselves Scientologists, fit neatly into the frame of the "church." Seeing as how there are no limits, no deities to pay respects to, and seeing that tolerance is one of the cornerstones of the structure, I wouldn't be surprised to find that many cults of Satanists or Wiccan have already pledged allegiance to this nightmarish institution. For those of you concerned with spiritual warfare or the welfare of the church, I would look into this little band. For those of you who are not Christians, or who may very well be Scientologists themselves, I implore you to read the following. It is my hope to expose the loopholes and lies that I have already found (after only about an hours worth of study). Scientology is a fresh evil, and I fear it will only grow stronger without real intervention (via prayer and supplication) by the followers of Christ.

Sorry, I can't take anyone serious who uses wikipedia as a reference and has never talked with a Scientologist. " Scientology Belief in Deity: Belief in Deity: Scientology considers the belief in a God or gods as something personal and therefore offers no specific dogma. The nature of the Supreme Being is revealed personally through each individual as s/he becomes more conscious and spiritually aware. There exists a life energy or force (Theta) beyond and within all. " Check out some real sites: http://www.neuereligion.de/ENG/ and stop forwarding religious hate masked as a Christian view. Supreme being = God

Cool Smatchimo, I look forward to reading more from you on this subject. I have read your other stuff and like your train of thought. scienotlogy is one of the most dangerous groups out there and needs to be stopped.

Thanks for the info, Jerald. While most of my info was taken from Wikioedia, much of it does trace its source to the site that you mention (at least one similar to it). I found some fascinating things, including a mention of limitless potential, and the fact that our abilities are forced into dormancy at the hands of engrams and implants. If i misrepresented those views, I apologize. My intent was to expose at least a small chunk of Scientology based upon the info I garnered. I will definately delve more deeply into the subject. Thanks again.

You know as much as I hate to do this. And as a critic of scientology I really do. Most of this was just wrong. If you really want to learn about scientology ( and I hope you do, the more the better) Check out the scientology web site at scientology.org Then check out the other side at xenu.net and xenutv.com. I like the fact you are standing up to them, but unless its done right it just makes everyone look like what they say we are.

Thanks Tsu. I'll try and keep that in mind next time around.

Let me introduce you to a RADICAL concept ... it's called a paragraph. You make them by pressing the "Enter" key as you write. Generally you do this every time your writing chances from one idea to the next. It helps your readers get your point.

Attacking Scientology from a Christian standpoint isn't likely to sway a Scientologist away from that religion. It may expose to Christians why Scientology is wrong from that viewpoint, but odds are, they already knew being that Christians preach that theirs is the one true correct path. I was expecting more of an explanation of Scientology and a fact-based, balance review of it all, exposing the hypocrisy and ridiculousness...and instead, this is more like a sermon created to save souls. I have to wonder why you didn't just write a generic peice aimed at anyone of a non-Christian religion.
