Finding the perfect place to study, work or simply browse the latest news headlines can be tricky for a Boston city dweller. There's so much to consider: atmosphere, food and drink selection and price, type of establishment, level of friendliness in employees, length of stay that is (sometimes silently) permitted and most importantly cost of wifi internet service. So I have attempted to ease the decision making process for you by outlining the benefits of various Boston area cafes, bookstores and other locations that are conducive to work or study. A good guide for students and self employed professionals. And while I feel there are a few cafes and bookstores that are more enjoyable than others to be productive in, I have decided to limit my selection here to places that offer free wifi internet only. So here, listed in alphabetical order, a little so-called directory of places to work or study that have access to free wifi internet.

Armani Café
(617) 437-0909
214 Newbury Street
Boston, MA 02116
Secondary Phone Number: (617) 437-1962

The Armani Café fits in well at the heart of Boston's trendiest strip of posh shopping and restaurants, Newbury Street. The Italian Café is two floors and wireless internet is available for free and works great if you can get over the noise of the crowd that tends to collect there. The swanky café is quite the scene for certain groups in the Boston area and many visit to simply make an appearance. The Armani café can be spotted from a block away by the hoard of people outside on their cell phones. I suggest that if you really wish to venture here to use free wifi internet, you take a stroll by sometime first to check it out. It's the type of place where a silent dress code is expected and you don't want to be the jerk that strolls in there with an oversized sweatshirt and Birkenstocks. To get there, take the Green Line Train to the Arlington T Stop and head down Newbury Street toward Mass. Ave.

Au Bon Pain

Did You Know?
Take note that even though wifi internet is free at the Boston Public Library branches, you must have a valid library card and pin number in order to use it. That number must be entered into the main page in order to browse any further.
