Former NBA star Rodney Rogers was hospitalized after an accident on Friday, November 28. The 6-foot-7 forward was hurt in North Carolina and his injury has been reported as severe spinal cord damage. It is rumored he may be partly paralized but he
United States of America will begin rehabilitation for his injuries soon. Local police confirm he was in Northern Vance county on private property when the accident occurred, according to the AP.

Although ATV accidents can occur, one should not be dissuaded from this extreme sport due to the mistakes of celebrities or anyone else. ATVing can be a fun, safe way to enjoy oneself as long as the rider keeps a few simple tips in mind.
Safety Tip #1: REMEMBER you are on a 600 pound motorized machine. Don't push yourself or the vehicle, that is the number one cause of accidents
Safety Tip #2: GEAR; An ATV can reach speeds of over 60 mph, dress accordingly. Always wear long sleeves and a jacket as well as long pants and non-skid shoes. And of course a HELMET. Head injuries can be fatal on an ATV, always wear a helmet with eye protection.
Safety Tip #3: NO PASSENGERS; ATV's are designed for only one person and should be used accordingly. An extra person puts both the driver and passenger at risk.
Safety Tip #4: OFFROAD VEHICLES; These machines are not designed to be driven on public roads. Doing this endangers yourself as well as other drivers. Also its strongly recommended to never drive ATVs at night. Knowing what is ahead of you is the key to preventing injuries.
Safety Tip #5: EXPERIENCE; There are plenty of places to take ATV safety classes or training courses. ATV Riders without experience are far more likely to get injure themselves or others.
