Why Labrador Retrievers Are a Good Family Dog

Labrador Retrievers are a good dog for a family. Labrador Retrievers are a dog that can love many people at one time. Some dogs are one person dogs and they only like to be bonded with one person but a Labrador can bond with a lot of people. So a Labrador can bond with everyone in the family.

Labradors are a very active dog and the love to play. A Labradors favorite game is fetch. Labradors love to get anything you throw. If you throw one of their toys they run to get it. A Labrador can also improvise. If you just happen to find yourself in a spot with no toys and your Labrador wants to play fetch they will bring you anything they want. A stick is a great fetch toy or in the case of some Labradors a small log. A Labrador can play fetch with a very heavy item but I don't recommend it because when a Labrador plays fetch nothing else in the world matters and if the Labrador gets hurt they won't even notice. They would rather play in pain then have to stop playing.

Labradors can easily live with other pets. They can pretty much get along with anything that you give them a little time to get adjusted too. So if you have one or more cats you can usually get a Labrador to accept the cats but the cats may have a problem with the Labrador. Labradors like to play and they like any living thing to play with them so they may be a tad pesky to other pets. A Labrador will figure out who wants to play with them and who won't and eventually leave the crusty critters alone.

These dogs do not have bad tempers. They are an easy going dog and it takes a lot to get them mad. Labradors mind their own business and that helps give them a mild temperament. Whether a Labrador is yellow, chocolate or black they all have a great personality.

Labradors are not scared of much and they are pretty hardy dogs. Labrador Retrievers can stand cold temperatures to a certain extent but they like to live indoors with their people. They can be good hunting dogs when trained properly and they are good guard dogs. Labrador Retrievers are smart, caring, loving dogs that won't let you get bored. They love to be active and they want to keep you active as well.
