Recently released on DVD is the riotously silly movie, Employee of the Month. This movie stars Dane Cook, Jessica Simpson, and Dax Shepard, and is about the workers of a large superstore warehouse called Super Club (think Sam's Club or Costco).

Zack (Cook) and Vince (Shepard) have both been working at Super Club for ten years, with very markedly different outcomes. Though they both started out as box boys, Vince climbed the company ladder and is head cashier, while Zack remains a slacker box boy. Vince is working toward his record-breaking eighteenth Employee of the Month title; Zack just has fun harassing Vince. Things change however, when an attractive cashier named Amy (Simpson) is transferred to their store. It is rumored that Amy has a history of dating the Employee of the Month and the race is on.

Zack tries desperately to change things around and sets his sights on becoming that month's Employee of the Month and dashing Vince's hopes at a record. He actually shows up to work on time, tries to help customers, and cleans up messes, far be it from his ordinary slough-off routine. Meanwhile, Vince continues being his smooth, slick self while trying to charm Amy. It appears that Vince may be winning the competition of Employee of the Month and winning Amy's heart, when Zack starts doing his job for himself as opposed to trying to impress others.

This movie may be somewhat predictable throughout, with a little twist at the end. However, the comedic quips and hilarious antics of the characters make up for the predictability. For being one of Dane Cook's first major motion pictures and one of a handful of major ones for Dax Shepard, they were both outstanding and looked as if they had both been doing these types of movies for some time.
