My friend and I forged ahead to Frankenmuth, Michigan for a weekend. I have heard about how enjoyable Frankenmuth it is to visit, but like most places, one does not truly enjoy a destination until they too have made the journey.

We arrived on a Thursday, just in time for time for dinner at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. We stayed at the Bavarian Inn Lodge too. I would highly recommend the accommodations. The staff was welcoming. The decorations were appropriate. Please note that the Thursday room charge was less than Friday night's room charge - do to the weekend rate. They did accept the AAA membership for a minimal discount. The hotel had plenty to do so if the weather is bad when/if you visit the hotel's attractions will keep you occupied.

For Friday morning breakfast we ate our packed cereal and milk. The hotel does not provide breakfast but they do provide a room refrigerator. Then we made our way to Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland. This is the world's largest Christmas store. We spent several hours in here because they have such a variety to be marveled. We even had lunch at Bronner's as they have snack area with good food. One of my favorite activities while at Bronner's was selecting ornaments and having them personalized by the friendly staff. In addition Bronner's will box breakable items so the items can make it from their store to your home in one piece.

They allow for items to be shipped too. They have a catalogue. Another favorite activity was taking pictures of the manager scene by the Silent Night Chapel located on the grounds of Bronner's. My favorite activity though was going back to the grounds after dark and touring the outdoor light display and taking pictures with the well decorated lawn.

I'm such a dork... I live about 45 mins north of Frankenmuth, but thanks to financial restrictions, I have never gone. Next year for sure!
