Ah, how Dan Quayle must rue the fact that he was stuck with the wrong George Bush to serve his term as Vice President of the United States under! But for the difference of one generation and a pesky middle initial, Quayle could have happily placed an "e" on the end of any old vegetable he liked, and the American people would never have had the time to even notice- they would be far too busy keeping tabs on the fantastically inane "Bushisms" of the current President George Bush- President George W. Bush, that is!

The list of Bushisms is exhaustive. Collections of our fearless leader's curious and confused ramblings abound on the Internet and in print. About.com's Daniel Kurtzman keeps an excellently up-to-date collection of Bushisms. With so many befuddled Bushisms out there, I have decided to narrow down some of his eck-a-lec-tic chatter.

With 2006 now drawn to a close, let's take a look back at some of George W. Bush's "thoughts" about life.

2006 Bushisms on Life: On Culture and Stuff
"Occasionally. One of the things I've used on The Google is to pull up maps. It's very interesting to see- I've forgot the name of the program- but you get the satellite, and you can, like... I kinda like to look at the ranch. It remind me of where I wanna be sometimes." (George W. Bush responding to CNBC's Maria Bartiromo's question about whether or not he had ever used Google. October 24, 2006)

"I said I was looking for a book to read, Laura said you ought to try Camus. I also read three Shakespeares. I've got a eck-a-lec-tic reading list." (George W. Bush to NBC's Brian Williams. August 29, 2006)

"We shouldn't fear a world that is more interacted." (George W. Bush in Washington, D.C. June 27, 2006)

"I think it's really important for this great state of baseball to reach out to people of all walks of life to make sure that the sport is inclusive. The best way to do it is to convince little kids how to... the beauty of playing baseball." (George W. Bush in Washington, D.C. February 13, 2006)

Did You Know?
Showing a scratch he got from a cedar tree may not be the most engaging way of bonding with a group of wounded war veterans at an amputee care center. I could be wrong about that.
