2050: Sasha Obama Vs Piper Palin

The 2008 campaign gave birth to some brand new stars - like Joe The Plumber, Obama Girl, and a slew of other unlikely suspects.

As a parent, the one's that captured my attention most were the children because they are the future. They are the ones that will take the lessons of this moment in history and create their own. Also, I was scanning
the online slideshows highlighting the obligatory photos with the candidates as they kissed all those babies during the 2008 campaign trail stops (lol). Then, I began to think of the youngest kids of both President-Elect Barack Obama and Alaskan Governor/ Republican VP Pick Sarah Palin - Miss Sasha Obama and Miss Piper Palin (both 7 year olds). After hours on the political trail with their parents, would anyone be surprised to see them (as feisty as they appear to be), pick up the baton from their parents in years to come? I mean in 2050, they will both be in their 40's, precisely the age of Mom and Dad when - their roads to the White House began.

Imagine It -

The year is 2048, and world is preparing for another unprecedented presidential run. We are moving about in our high tech, energy efficient cars that we fill up with corn by -products. We are checking email or something on gadgets the size of an ipod - when a signal comes in from the newsrooms safely situated on Mars. I place my grandchild down to gather my signals for an historic announcement.

Sasha Obama and Piper Palin (both 46 year olds) are on live declaring that with family legacy in hand and an old boys network still dominant in Washington, they are seeking CHANGE, Maverick Style (of course) and have both decided to seek the Presidency of the United States of America. So the story goes, as they both campaign vigorously - ripping their competition to shreds. Of course, no, one is surprised at their success - considering their history and upbringing.

I was just thinking about this the other day, (not about Palin's kids though) wondering if the girls will grow up to become involved with politics, especially Malia.
SabaInk, I love the way your mind works!
I wonder, too, will we have to wait that long to see women running for president? This is a very interesting article. I wonder how many others look at those little girls and consider what their futures will be?
Great article thanks Saba
Great article. Thanks for sharing.
Mavericks getting all Mavericky up in here...
A most interesting premise. The ONLY thing I see wrong with it is......come 2050 there probably won't be a Democratic or Republican Party. I predict they will cease to exist and society will be governed by ONE universal party called "The People's Party".
What a great "thought" journey!!!! I sure hope it doesn't take THAT long for women to advance to this level. I have hope, though. With God, ALL things are possible!
Now THIS is a great scenario to imagine ... the world finally accepting people based on merit. No more gender lines or racial barriers to contend with. I can see it coming true :)
