A Review of American Haunting

Recently I saw the American haunting movie and couldn't help but think it didn't seem entirely true to the story of the bell which ghost. Although there are many stories behind the Bell witch ghost I have not read one that lines up with the story depicted in the movie. There also seemed to be a lot of scenes and imagery that was not clearly explained and also a lack of information on this historic event included on the DVD. Personally I rented this movie because I was fascinated by this presumably true ghost story. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed because I gained no more understanding of this story than what I have read on the Internet.

I felt that the movie was putting too much of the information from the Bell witch ghost into a movie which only made the movie harder to understand. Had this movie been entirely based on fictional events it would be a vallaint attempt. If you're going to make a movie based on true events please make sure you make the story clear to understand. This is because you can bet your bottom dollar a portion of the audience for that movie are interested in the true story. Also the interpretation to who spirit was simply made no sense.

I don't want to say too much about this movie other than what I've already said because I don't want to spoil it for anyone planning to see it in the future. It does seem to me that making these confusing movies is a growing trend. It appears that this only leaves the audience confused and disappointed. If I was going to rate this movie I would probably give it three out of five stars there is no doubt in my mind there's certainly room for improvement. To be honest being a strong believer in supernatural and paranormal activity I was expecting a bit more from this movie. Especially considering there is a severe lack of realistic ghost movies. I am not particularly into horror movies but prefer something a little more real unfortunately for me American haunting failed to deliver. By all means go ahead and see the movie and then feel free to leave comments for me on this page. Don't be afraid to disagree with me after all this is merely one mans opinion.
