Easter Egg Decorations to Make with Kids

Are you looking for a fun project to do with your kids for Easter? You can make string Easter eggs with your kids. String Easter eggs are a fun and easy art project. You can decorate the house with the string Easter eggs that you make. This project can be messy so wear old
clothes and work in a space that can get messy.

You will need balloons that are any size you want to make your string Easter eggs. So if you want tiny String Easter eggs you can use tiny water balloons or it you want big String Easter eggs you can use big l8 inch balloons. Any size balloon will work as long as it is the shape of an Easter eggs.

You will need string of any color or colors that you want to use. The string can be crochet string and you can buy it at a craft store. Pink, purple, red, blue, green are some of the colors you can use. You can use one color or you can use them all to make your string Easter eggs.

You will also need white liquid glue that you can't see when it dries.

First of all you blow up your balloon.

Then mix the white glue with half as much water. So if you have a cup of white glue, mix half a cup of water with it. Stir it well.

Cut the string that you want to use into one or two foot lengths.

Now you are ready to put the string on the balloon. Take a piece of the string and dip it in the glue mixture. As you pull the string out of the glue gentle pull the string between your fingers to wipe off any excess glue and then place the string with the glue on it on the balloon. Wrap the string on the balloon any way you want to. And then repeat the same process with the strings till you have the balloon covered with the string like you would want to have it covered. You can cover the balloon completely or just with some air spaces between the strings. If you would like you can sprinkle glitter on it before the glue is dry.

After you have the string on the balloon like you want it to be let it dry. It may take a day to dry. After the string Easter egg is dry take a pin and poke the balloon between the strings till it breaks. If it worked out right you should have a string Easter egg that you can hang up on the ceiling or anywhere you want.
