Everyday Minerals Vs. Bare Minerals

How Does the Value Priced Mineral Make-up Compare?

There is no denying that mineral make-up is experiencing a surge in popularity. Women are finally discovering that they don't need to coat their faces in harmful chemicals to look beautiful. With their infomercials and placement in Sephora Boutiques, Bare Minerals by idMinerals is the
undisputed market leader in mineral make-up. However Bare Minerals is only one of many companies that offer mineral based products. One of the newer companies to create a buzz on the Internet is Everyday Minerals.

Everyday Minerals claims to have high quality products, but are they really comparable to the larger boutique brands? A quick look at the ingredient label on Bare Minerals shows that its foundation contains only five ingredients: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, mica, iron oxide and bismuth oxychloride. Everyday Minerals contains titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, mica, iron oxide. It does not contain bismuth oxychloride. For women with sensitive skin, this is important to note. Bismuth Oxychloride is a by-product of lead mining and can cause skin irritation in some women. Many women who think they can't wear mineral make-up because of itching and breakouts are reacting to bismuth oxychloride. Bismuth Oxychloride is also what gives Bare Minerals foundations their characteristic sheen. The finishing powders of both brands contain zea mays, which can cause itching. Everyday Minerals offers zea mays-free balancing powder and 100% silk powder as alternatives to those who are sensitive to zea mays.

Another consideration when choosing make-up is the availabilty of a wide range of shades. Bare Minerals offers 12 shades ranging from Fair to Deepest Deep. Eleven of the shades are neutral or warm colors, making a good match for women with cool complexions difficult. Everyday Minerals offers 24 shades in cool, neutral and warm undertones. Both brands lack a wide range of shades for deeper complexions.

Part THREE: So the two of us who this happened to - who have referred several other people - are walking away. They won't get our orders (several hundred dollars in the past year) any longer, and we're telling everyone we recommended them to to avoid them. I've already found a suitable replacement - locally at that - and the exact same brushes that they claim to create? I can buy for 1/2 the price elsewhere. The absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had in dealing with an online company. I would not recommend them at all. Everyday Minerals sucks.

Part TWO: (the item they sent me wasn't even on the web site to order, and still isn't). I can deal with it, if they'd just send the compact. They've refused outright, and said it was my fault and they won't do "exchanges". After not getting a response from customer service initially, I started a thread on their forum - where I used to see lots and lots of complaints about shipping times and order screwups. There are no complaints there anymore, because they delete any threads that complain! I was told I was starting drama, and going against "community values" - regardless of the fact that I was simply looking for others who had the same experience (and people replied who did.) Now they refuse to send me the compact still and want me to pay international shipping to send the eye colors back before they do "exchange" it for me. I just want an empty compact. And the brush that they ripped me off for last year - now that I have their attention to it. They refuse. So the two of us wh

After being a faithful EDM shopper for well over a year, I'm finally getting frustrated with them. I've personally referred at least 20 people to them - over half who still order as much as I do on a regular basis. 6 months ago I started hearing complaints from people I referred - products missing from their shipments and never refunded, substandard quality, smaller sizes etc. I hung in there - regardless of the fact that the same thing happened to me last year. I never got the product, never got the refund, and NEVER - for several months - got a single response from customer service, in spite of repeated requests. Last month they had issues with their server - a new product was added (the compact "collections") and one was ordered. But they sent the eye colors and a brush - no compact. I only wanted the compact. That's the reason I ordered eye colors I can't stand wearing. I complained, and they insist that it was my fault for ordering wrong (the item they sent me wasn't even on t

I just ordered my first EM free trial. They have so many tone varieties for foundations. The free trial comes with three foundations, one concealer, one, blush. You get to choose the colors you want for all of them. And it's not free trial once, you can get this with every order. and with this order you don't need to order anything else. just pay s&h, around $3,$4.

I purchased the BE kit for $80 at their company store. They didn't have Fair in the kit, so I had to settle for Light. They ended up sending me a free small Fair foundation, which was cool, but I didn't like that I couldn't customize my kit. The fair didn't even end up being my color, it was too dark and yellow. I ended up returning it before opening the package, after reading reviews online saying it's harsh on skin (mine is sensitive). I came across a site that recommended Everyday Minerals, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the free sample kit and was AMAZED by the products. I was able to test out THREE different foundation colors before buying (a blush and concealer too!). I ordered 3 sample kits total to make sure I found the right color before ordering the $50 kit (I wanted EVERYTHING, I was so impressed). I've been wearing EM for about 2 months now and haven't had any problems. With my large purchase, I also received 3 free eyeshadows (they have specials at all times). An

I've used Bare Minerals for only a short period of time, but am in love with it. I love the fact that the foundation can be used as a concealer as well. I went to the EM website two months ago, but could not decide whether or not to order the free sample kit. I'm thinking that I'll order one soon, just to compare it because I've read so many good comments on it. I also love the amazing different shades of eye shadow, although I have not tried any because my skin color makes it hard to see a lot of different shades. The cost of EM is also a bonus, although I guess it depends on which one you consider gives you the better coverage and look.
