Ideas for Filling Up Easter Baskets

Easter is on its way and for some of us it is time to start thinking of things to put it Easter Baskets for the ones we love. Easter baskets are a way of telling people that you love them and care about them. Candy is the traditional item that fills Easter baskets but there are other things you can put in a basket as well.

The Easter basket is traditionally a long handled basket for putting eggs in. Today you can use any basket. A natural basket made of willow or other natural fibers is the best. But plastic is nice too.

Small children love candy but they shouldn't have so much of it so you could put small toys in there basket. Wooden airplanes, tops, yo yos, kites, little cars and dolls to name just a few are good items to fill an Easter basket. Small children are the best to give too since there needs are so simple. Just make sure you give the child toys that are appropriate for their age.

If you have a college or high school student the task of giving an Easter basket is more of a challenge. A laundry basket is a good basket to give since students can always use one. It can be a plastic laundry basket or one made of natural fibers. You can fill the laundry basket with things that the student needs like towels and clothes. Toiletries are nice for school students. Students don't always have money for such things so they appreciate them as little gifts. So you can put in deodorant and tooth brushes, shampoo, toothpaste and soap in the laundry basket. Candy is good too. Older students don't always show it but they need love too.

If you have a senior citizen on your Easter basket list you can give them things in a basket that interest seniors. Some ideas are a magazine, a bottle of senior vitamins, fruit, and garden seeds. And warm items like a hat, socks, gloves or slippers. A gift certificate to a restaurant is something seniors like to receive. Sometimes seniors need basic items and it is ok to give them things they need.
