Beach Wedding Favor

These mini beach wedding candles make the perfect wedding favor. Using store bought candle votives for about 50 cents a pop makes this a very affordable wedding favor that will carry on your beach theme.

To Make Mini Beach Wedding Candle Favors You Will Need:

Small glass candle votives (or baby food jars)

Seashells

Hot Glue gun or epoxy glue

Thin jute ribbon or twine

White tea candles

Clear Candy Bags

Ribbon

The first step is to buy the right jute rope for this beach wedding favor candle votive. I like to use a jute rope that is about1/8 inch thick. You will need to decide this based on the size of candle votive you use though.

Now, for the beach wedding favor candle votive jar you can recycle baby food jars, but I do recommend just buying those great little 3 inch tall clear glass candle votives meant to hold tea candles. You can find them for less than $1 a piece at any Wal Mart.

Now, leave your jute rope on the roll, there is no need to cut a piece off.

Take your glue gun and make a small glob of glue at the bottom edge of the small glass candle votive or jar. Place the end of the jute twine in the glue. Now, start wrapping the rope around the candle votive. I like to put a glob of the clear hot glue occasionally to hold it in place. You want to pull the jute rope tightly as you work your way around the beach themed candle votive. Keep wrapping until you reach all of the way up the clear glass jar. You could also just work your way half way up. You decide.

Now, place a final glob of glue, press the jute rope down into it Be sure to leave a 8 -10 -inch tail of jute rope hanging down. You will need it later.

Now, to finish off the outside of the coastal candle votive you can glue some small shells or sand dollars to the end of the jute rope you left hanging off the beach wedding favor candle votive.

If you have sea shells that have a small hole in them then you can slip your jute twine through the hole and have the sea shells dangling at the end of the rope.

If you can not find sea shells with that small hole, then use sand dollars, which all have holes. You could also use a ceramic drill bit in a very small size and drill your own holes in flat shells.
