Men's Cologne Shopping Advice

What to Buy When Shopping for Cologne

There is nothing better than cuddling up to a good smelling man. I love to smell a man's scent when his aroma depicts fresh, sporty and... spicy. Does this happen to you? Your man wears a certain type of cologne for a while and you smell it everywhere. Has your guy ever left his coat in
your possession? When mine does, I just have to smell it before I put it away. If I miss him, you bet the first thing I do when he's gone is wrap myself in his coat and enjoy basking in the smell of his cologne. Somehow, it makes me feel close to him.

Be aware that not all men know how to buy the right cologne. Cologne should complete a man. It's what makes women long to be close to them. If your man has fallen behind in the "smell good" area, here are a few tips that just might help choose the right Men's Cologne.

Choose cologne

Cologne manufacturers are getting competitive these days. They are creating clever ideas to make new, distinguishing colognes for men. It's good to know that cologne may smell differently on one person than it does on another. Therefore, it's best to try on the cologne, yourself, before making your purchase.

While department stores are notorious for having sales associates who pounce on you as you enter, I still feel that they are the best way to go when you want to be able to choose from a large selection of colognes. It seems that no matter where I enter the store, I am sure to run into a cologne sales expert. If buying new cologne is your focus, these sales associates can be a quick answer to your prayer. On the other hand, when your intention to shop is for other reasons, they can cause you to run the other way. Suffice it to say that for cologne shopping, I really like these large store's cologne departments.

As you enter the department store, walk around various cologne booths; smelling their cologne samples. First, smell the paper tester. If you find a scent that excites you, ask them to spray it on your wrist. Remember, the scent will not smell the same when it's applied to you as it did when you smelled it on paper.
