Summer camp brings lots of memories, friendships and lessons for participants. School-aged kids are able to take part in a variety of games and activites during summer camp. Some camps are day camps and others are week long camps. Older campers can make camp their summer homes! North Carolina has many types of camps for a variety of ages.Surf Camp is located in Wrightsville Beach, NC. It is a residential co-ed surfing camp with a ratio of 3:1. Campers will learn to surf in the warm waters of coastal North Carolina while exploring four different islands. No experience is necessary because the camp caters to beginners. Located in Cedar Mountain, NC is a residential boys' summer camp called Camp High Rocks. It is a small camp for 140 boys that prides themselves in a non-competitive atmosphere. Campers are able to choose their own schedule and work to build skills to gain self confidence. Boys will learn, explore and have fun making new friends. Activities include rock climbing, lake and whitewater canoeing, mountain biking, backpacking and horseback riding. Many other traditional camp activiites are also available. Camp Arrowhead is a residential boys' summer camp set along a trout strea, in Tuxedo, NC. The camp has over 200 acres of woodland, meadows, streams and trails for campers to explore. The camps mission is to build confidence, character, courage and compassion to young boys through camping traditions, fun outdoor activitiesm creative programs and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Exceptional counselors are carefully chosen to lead the campers through activities such as, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, archery, swimming, fishing, and riflery.
