Dr. Kevorkian Hopes to Pack it Up Before He Packs it In. Whadda Ya Think?

So, Whadda Ya Think?: Dr. Kevorkian says that if he could do it all over again, he'd follow the law. He's scheduled for release from prison, as a parolee, on June 1, 2007. Do you care?

Should the good Dr. Death, famed of song and story, be set free after serving just over 8 years of a 10-25 year sentence for second-degree murder? Should he have been convicted of murder in the first place? Is it relevant that the 78-year-old, who is terminally ill with Hepatitis C, is near death himself? Was he more interested in fame and notoriety than medicine- good or bad? And, most importantly, do you believe that Dr. Kevorkian- who claims to have "assisted" over 130 patients to their deaths, yet managed to evade conviction four times before finally being brought down by the law- ever really committed a crime?

For Your Consideration: "Dr. Death" is his name, and assisted suicide is his game. Or was his game, according to the good Dr. Kevorkian himself.

Convicted of second-degree murder for his role in the death of Lou Gehrig's disease patient Thomas Youk the previous year, Dr. Kevorkian is scheduled to be let outta the pen in June. He has been incarcerated since April 13, 1999.

Like any good rabble-rouser, Dr. Kevorkian took his plight to the people. Like any good emissary, he made sure it was televised. After three acquittals and one mistrial for his role in the "assisted suicide" deaths of other "terminally ill" people, Dr. Kevorkian assisted Youk to his death on television, in an event that was videotaped and televised on the CBS program "60 Minutes."

Youk's brother, Terrance Youk, remains steadfastly behind Dr. Kevorkian, and dedicated to bringing about his quick release. "I was starting to believe that they would never let him out," Terrance Youk is quoted as saying.

So, who is in the "Go Dr. Kevorkian!" camp, and who prefers a world with "No Dr. Kevorkian!" as its mantra? Let's take a look.

Go Dr. Kevorkian!:
1. Well, Terrance Youk, for starters. "All he wanted to do was help people have a choice at the end of their life when they don't have any other choices," Youk has said in response to the news of Dr. Kevorkian's pending release.
