Any month is special in New York City and April is always one of the most special. The days a getting longer and the whether getting warmer and you just feel like getting out and about and really enjoying the city and with Easter on April 8th and the children on their spring vacation, there will be visitors as well as residents looking for some very special events.

You know you will not be disappointed, not in New York, so take a look at what is available to you and pick the ones you want and come and celebrate spring and everything beautiful and fun.

April Fools' Day Parade

This is one you may not even know about, but it has been around since 1986 and is just pure fun. Anyone can participate, all you have to do is dress like a fool, a court jester and be willing to march from 59th street to Washington Square Park. The floats are hilarious, and who knows you may be the one elected King of the Fools. It sure beats calling the zoo and asking to speak to Mr. Giraffe.

One of the biggest events is actually a world wide one and every year New York plays a big part. Of course I am talking about Earth Day, as a matter of fact, it is more than Earth Day in New York, it is Earth Week. It is the time of the year when citizens around the world focus on our environment and how to preserve it. Hopefully, the lessons learned on Earth Day will be put into practice in our daily lives and help make the world a greener place for the future generations. As usual the New York event will be held at Grand Central Terminal, April 16th-21st. One of the most spectacular events is the Giant Earth Images Show which takes place in the grand concourse. If you have ever been in Grand Central Station, you know what a magnificent space this it. Just imagine pictures being projected onto that ceiling. It is a show that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.

On April 20th and 21st come by the Vanderbilt Avenue side of the terminal and enjoy all the festivities associated with free exhibits and entertainment.
