I must browse through no less than 15 different magazines during any given week and it's a rare one that doesn't contain at least one quarter, half or full page advert that involves some pill or contraption designed to help males either get an erection, achieve a better erection or increase the size of their penis. It seems like most magazines are aimed at two age-demographics: either 25-34 years-of-age or 55 and older because both of these groups apparently have the most disposable income. The age group between the two -- that would be around 35 to 55 years old give or take -- apparently is either two broke to worry about size and longevity or maybe we just don't have any problems with how it's hangin' down there. A lot of males suffer from some form of sexual dysfunction -- often referred to as "the dilemma of the American male" -- and as a result some interesting research has been accomplished over the years concerning a man's ability or lack-there-of to "salute the flag" so to speak:
According to a study conducted by the Section of Endocrinology of the Lahey Hitchcock Medical Center, Burlington, Massachusetts (www.dhmc.org), smoking causes a significant drop in the number of spontaneous erections that happen during sleep. You may not know it, but these erections are one of the telltale signs of a good blood flow and a healthy sex life. A decrease in their frequency or intensity is a sure sign that erectile dysfunction is close by. The study has also shown that refraining from smoking for as little as 24 hours brought about a dramatic increase in the quality of spontaneous erections. Smoking is also the root of many other problems, including lung cancer.
In a related study, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (www.llnl.gov), which is managed and operated by the University Of California, conducted its own study regarding the effects of smoking among teenagers. The study revealed that smoking has a disastrous impact on the quality of semen.
