Egg Carton Easter BasketsA 12-egg carton yields 3 "baskets."
Egg carton
Scissors
Awl or pencil (something to make a hole)
18-gauge paper- or cloth-wrapped wire
Needle-nose pliers
Craft glue
Ribbon
Easter grass and candy
1. Cut carton into 3 sections of 4. Create two holes in each tray, at the center of each side, for the handles. 2. Cut an 18-inch length of wire. Push ends of wire into holes, creating a handle, and bend back ends with pliers to secure.
3. Glue ribbon onto top edge of basket. If desired, fill with Easter grass and candy.
Berry Easter Baskets
Reuse the plastic baskets fresh berries come in by turning them into cute Easter goodie holders.
1. Join two pipe cleaners together end to end to make a handle. Glue a bow at the top to hide where the pipe cleaners twist to join.
2. Weave narrow ribbon or construction paper strips through the slats, using white craft glue to secure the ends.
3. Fill the bottom of the basket with Easter grass and add candy eggs, jellybeans, cookies, and a toy.
Bunny Ears
White poster board
Pink construction paper
White craft/school glue
Tape or stapler
Easter stickers, markers, crayons; optional
1. Cut a strip of poster board about 2" wide by about 24" long. 2. Cut out 2 ears out of poster board each about 8 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide. 3. Cut out 2 smaller ear shapes out of pink construction paper. Glue these inside the white ears. 4. Glue the ears inside the band, positioning to fit behind the child's head.
5. Let the child decorate the head band with stickers, markers, or crayons if they want.
6. Tape or staple the band to fit the child's head. Cut off any excess.
Bunny Mask
paper plate
pink construction paper
pink and/or white pipe cleaners
yarn
1. Cut out eyes and nose holes in the paper plate.
2. Cut out bunny ears from pink paper and glue to the plate.
3. Use pipe cleaners to make whiskers. Attach to plate by poking through and knotting at back, or gluing on.
4. Make one small hole on each side of mask. Tie yarn onto one hole. Adjust length to fit child's head and tie other side, cutting off excess.
