The truth, as it always seems to be, is under the scrutiny of every critic that can find a place to voice their opinion. This is a common place thing, and has been going on for thousands of years, and looks to be in no sight of ending anytime soon. Nonetheless, the truth of Christianity has never wavered, despite the incessant bombardment of slander, hatred, and even, indifference to the call to man to change his sinful ways and to come unto God.Why the attacks? Well, simply, the truth is easily vulnerable to people who cannot come to realize that they are sinners in need of change. It is easier, even safe, to ignore the standard God has instituted and just go about doing you own thing.
I find it amazing that Christianity is typically single out, despite the truth that God wants to love us. He tells us the truth: that we all live a life against him, and that he has provide a way to make things right, by allowing his own son to die for us--and this is err to some men?
Men and women who have a heart against Christianity have to look at themselves. Why do they want to reform it unless they find that their own way of living is singled out to be sinful? Why say the Bible is in error unless they can prove it by providing the precise book, chapter, and verse that's wrong?
The fact is this: there's nothing wrong with Christianity and it needs no reform. It is the human that is wrong; it is the human that needs reform.
Most testify to the statement of past failures of men within the body of Christ, notice I did not state the Church, men have wrong men, and if it can be said that if men have done deeds that were criminal within the realm of the Church, they were not Christians and they did not the deeds of Christ, but of their own lust and desires, yet that does not mean that the truth of the Gospel is void.
