NOTE: I am not trying to influence others; I'm just making an observation. My personal lifestyle/view is NOT expressed in the following paragraphs. Also, I am not putting down anyone who might be described later. We are all individuals who live life differently...and I respect that wholeheartedly. I judge no one.

Humans having sex vs. Animals having sex. There's a big difference: necessity. (Sorry folks, you must admit eventually that pleasure from sex is not a necessity in life. In all honesty, you will not die from not having it. In fact, you could die from having sex.) Anyways...Animals. Let's look at the necessity: reproduction. I'm gonna go off on a tangent a bit, but this is an interesting point. Many animals cannot afford to waste the effort of engaging in sex when there is no possibility that their genes will be passed on to another generation through the production of offspring. Let's focus on lions, because they are the easiest to understand, even to a child.

Look at a pride of lions. One male and several females. There may be other males in the pride, but usually one is the alpha. Why? That alpha is the leader for a reason: he is the strongest and will produce the best offspring and protection for the females. Ladies, if you had to choose between a scraggly guy with no skills and an attractive guy with a future, who would you pick? Why? Subconciously, we ladies want to end up with the guy who's gonna provide security for us and give us healthy children. Same as in the animal world. Now, look at the males. Why are there more than one female in a pride...or any animal pack? Simple - the male wants to sow his "seeds" to make sure he has plenty of opportunity for his name to live on. Let's bring this back to humans. You might see a reason here why men and women might cheat on each other. All-in-all it's survival of the fittest.

direct and to the point.the only area missed i think would be that of time wasted.if one could sum up all the time wasted in the persuit of something that (excluding species continuance)is so......well....useless i do believe it would stagger the mind.unfortunately our time here IS finite, with so much to learn AND experience out there.so WHY waste your time?
