Have you ever wondered why the police take this stance, "Even law enforcement officials have questioned what good increasing the restrictions would do because where someone lives doesn't restrict where they travel, so the zones provide a false sense of security." They take this stance because they are the ones that do the home checks to make certain the rehabilitated sex offender does live there. But they also know that we are a traveling society and they can be registered but go to another location to harm, even to a different city if they wish to. They Police also know, although most will not admit, that the recidivism for sex offenders being re-incarcerated is 3.5%. Another statistic they know is that 67% of drug abusers are more likely than a registered sex offender to sexually abuse someone and end up back in prison from it.

The rate for sexual abuse is 90 to 95% from someone you know. You need to be more worried about your family, friends, teachers, coaches, Sunday school teachers and other persons your child knows even his or her friends. There are many juvenile sex offenders. Your own child could one day get in this kind of trouble.

What you need is to Educate the Prevention of Sexual Abuse to your Children. You need to be responsible for them knowing the facts, what to do, etc. They need to be taught that if anyone touches any of their private areas of their bodies they should tell you immediately. Tell them to tell you even if the person threatened them, because the person can not threaten them from jail. Tell them do not ever touch another child or Adult in the private parts of their bodies. This now evidently includes a 4 year old hugging their teachers aide and a 5 year old pinching a girls butt, when she was fully clothed. Those are the two child incidences of late. I was in tears when I watched them fingerprint that a 4 year old little boy. Many of these things are getting out of hand. Roar for Freedom is trying to bring some common sense into the picture.

Takeaways
  • Children are put in jail by these same laws
  • Children should be given therapy and not a criminal case
  • Children are the future, they need to be taught
Did You Know?
The U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights need to be brought back into the picture. It is amazing how many people think this will never happen to them or their family. Ladies and Gentlemen you are very wrong.

Thanks Jeff, Roar for Freedom has every intention of keeping it up. I am trying to get some schools to let me come in and do a presentation for Staff, Children and Parents on Education and Prevention of Child Abuse. I will write an article after I have done a few.

I dare say that Mr Expert has no idea what a sex offender is. He is confused, so very confused. I suggest that he look at eAdvocate and read the definitions of the different types or class of offenders. This is one instance where I would tell Mr Expert to take his ball and go home, we don't want your kind here to play with..........

I also agree, very good! The real facts need to be presented so that we do not turn this country into a mob of vigilantes after our own citizens. Children need to be taught to be cautious, but they also need to learn respect for those who do what is necessary to turn their life around. Without belief in redemption we are lost as a country...we will have destroyed hope for our future generations. We must look very hard at what the real facts are before we destroy the freedom of our fellow citizens who have already paid the price required of them.

Mr "Expert" defines Romeo and Juliet cases as "where a man grooms and sexually abuses a female child". This just shows his stupidity. The common accepted definition of a Romeo and Juliet case is "two young lovers" such as a 17 year old and his 16 year old girlfriend. If Expert Idiot is going to stalk someone he should at least spend the money on a dictionary or learn to use dictionary.com!

This "expert" obviously has no life so he becomes a hate filled, lonely individual that cannot find or keep a relationship. His so called claim of expertise may just be his way of asking for help before he is found out just like Mark Foley. We can pity such a person. Ian, go somewhere else and bother the flies..........

I see that this "Expert on Sexual Abusers" has no or very limited knowledge of sexual abuse, treatment for both victim and abuser, knows little of recidivism rates as stated in the DOJ study (2003)nor the difference between the various levels of a sex offense. What he fails to understand is not all on the registry was due to child molestation. Fact is less than 5% of those listed is for child molestation. The remainder consisting of victimless offenses such as urination in public (drunk behind the dumpster),Romeo and Juliet's (boy/girl friend under legal age), skinny dipping with friends, the streeker, and lest we forget, the 4 and 5 year olds for giving teacher a hug or pinching a little girl on the butt. Then the violent crimes of adult rape, Kiddy porn. Mr Expert believes that all who end up on the registry has a "disorder" but the question remains, what proof can you present? Mr Expert, presented the facts in black and white, deems them to be false and incorrect but offers no proof

This nation needs to bow its head in shame for actions taken against its own citizens. While no one likes sexual abuse, it is and has been part of civilization for thousands of years. Educating your children is the first step, educating yourself with accurate and factual statistics is paramount to being safe. It is not the sex offender that has served his or her sentence you need to worry about, look in the home or the circle of associates you and your child knows. They are the greater danger. Most sex offenders do not commit another crime, instead want nothing more than to live peacefully and lawfully while raising a family. The rare few who do commit the atrocities we read i the papers or see on TV are just that, rarities. They get the attention and the rest suffer from their actions. Society needs to allow a reformed sex offender the chance to re-establish their life, be part of the community, raise a family and not be shunned as a monster. We need more people like those in Roar 4 F

Very good! Some common sense is needed-the current lynch mob hysteria is way off base. And as you point out, a child is far more likely to be abused at home than by a stranger. And far more likely to be abused at church than at school. Sounds like you are doing good work, keep it up!
