Miley Cyrus Releases 'Let's Do This' for Hannah Montana: The Movie
Miley Cyrus released her new music video Let's Do This. This will serve as the theme song for Hannah Montana: The Movie, which will be open in U.S. theaters on April 10, 2009. According to Ace Show Biz, the Hannah Montana movie will
portray alter ego Miley Stewart's struggles to deal with her success as Hannah Montana. The video for Let's Do This is available on youtube.
Miley Cyrus' new song, Let's Do This, is cute and catchy for what it is, generic pop. The lyrics show a desire to break out of her Hannah Montana cookie cutter image. Hannah Montana sings about getting on your feet, wanting you to scream, and wanting to show her new song to her friends. There is a lot of "na na na na na na uh huh uh huh" but no real melody. I prefer Hannah Montana's earlier songs where you can actually her voice and hear a real melody. Although the beat is catchy, the song itself is a bit over-synthesized. In Let's Do This, one can't even hear her real voice.
Miley Cyrus releases Hannah Montana Song Let's Do It: Other Disney Stars
Hannah Montana is the latest Disney pop star to try her hand at movies. Lindsay Lohan demonstrated talent in her early films The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and Mean Girls. Yet imbalanced lifestyle choices caused both her personal and professional life to suffer. Hilary Duff achieved moderate success in movies with Lizzie Maguire the Movie and A Cinderella Story. Yet she's proven herself a more well-rounded and well-adjusted celebrity than Lindsay Lohan. Hilary Duff has achieved success in music, television, and the fashion industry.
Whether Miley Cyrus follows the path of Lindsay Lohan or Hilary Duff remains to be seen. While she has not made the poor choices of Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) will have to be strong against the temptations of Hollywood culture. When receiving a Porsche for her birthday, Miley Cyrus was actually disappointed that it was not her chosen car.
