How to Get Rid of the Smell of Too Much Perfume

Easy Ways to Quell the Smell

We have all made the mistake of putting on too much perfume or cologne, but it is not necessary to take a shower to quell the smell. Sometimes it is not possible to take a shower or bath, but it is possible to get rid of the smell of perfume
without bathing, and it can be done at work or any other location where perfume application has gone awry. Instead of smelling like you marinated in perfume or cologne, and instead of showering to get rid of the smell, consider the following simple tips. It is possible to get rid of the smell of too much perfume in a few easy steps, and not only will you get rid of the smell, but you will also save yourself or someone else from developing a terrible headache.

Baby Wipes

Wet wipes meant for babies are ideal for anyone, and they are convenient to have on hand. Invest in a small plastic container that will keep them sealed and moist, and keep a pack in the car, at the office, or in a purse. After applying too much perfume, use a baby wipe to clean the skin and remove the smell of too much perfume. This is a simple solution to a common problem, and the baby wipes can be used for a number of other cleaning purposes as well.

Hand Sanitizer

If you do not have wet wipes on hand but have hand sanitizer, it works just as well to remove the scent of too much cologne. Rub a little hand sanitizer into the skin. It will quickly get rid of the smell and sanitize the skin at the same time.

Alcohol Wipes

Rubbing alcohol works well to get rid of the smell of too much perfume, and alcohol wipes are easy and convenient to have on hand. Simply open an alcohol wipe pack and use a pre-moistened wipe to quell the smell. Amazingly the smell will dissipate as the rubbing alcohol evaporates, and the wipe will gently and effectively wash it away.

Baking Soda Paste

If you have found yourself covered in too much perfume and do not have time to take a bath or shower, make a paste from baking soda and water. Apply it to the skin where too much perfume is a problem, and wipe it away with a clean damp cloth. The baking soda will leave the skin fresh, and it will get rid of the overwhelming smell caused by too much perfume.

Great tips for my office where everyone smells like they have been merinated. I am HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO PERFUME/CHEMICALS and everyone I work with wears it too work. I AM SICK 4 OUT OF 5 DAYS A WEEK AT WORK. A am freaking out because they are the culprits and I am the victim. Probably will have to go on short term sick leave until the big boss cleans up the office.

Thanks for this. I know a lot of people who are finicky about perfume, and think it's too much and complain, too.
