Dalton's Review on Stanich's

(Note: There are two Stanich's restaurants in Oregon, one in Kelly Avenue and one in Fremont Street. I'm reviewing the one in Kelly Avenue since I've heard it's better than the one in Fremont.)

I have been to lots of restaurants that serve burgers, some good, some not so good. A few months ago, I had my first Stanich burger, The Special, which is Stanich's most famous burger. According to most burger critics, it is THE best burger in Portland. I didn't believe them, until a few months ago.

The first time I went to Stanich's was with my brother and my grandma. We were celebrating my birthday and my parents were out at a gig (They're in a band.). When I first walked into the building, I could tell at once the owners are sports fans. All of the walls are filled with sports flags from many different colleges. The waitress greeted us and led us to our seats. The service at Stanich's is great mainly because of how nice the waiters and waitresses are.

When the waitress was handing us our drinks I noticed that there were classic arcade machines behind me. One was Burger Time and another was Asteroids (A classic!). They were great to pass the time with, especially after I noticed a downside: long waiting times for the food. It almost took forever for the food to arrive, but as you can see in the next paragraph, it's worth it...

The burger itself was amazing! It was DEFINITELY the best burger I've ever had. In case you were wondering, I ordered their all-time-famous Special. A great tasting burger with cheese, ham, bacon, fried egg, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions and special sauce (mustard, mayonnaise and relish). Next time I think I'll order an extra patty to even out all those toppings! The fries were pretty good. Very greasy though and if you don't eat them now, they get a little soggy. But that's forgivable since the burger itself is flat-out amazing!
