It's almost time to ring in a brand new year. In 2009, if you make New Year's resolutions and you are a shopper, you may want to put a few of these resolutions on your resolution list! They can make your year long hectic shopping life easier, faster, cheaper and more fun. Here they are. Top ten 2009 New Year's
resolutions for shoppers!

The first resolution that you can make is to set a money limit for how much you plan to spend, before you leave the house! Set a shopping trip budget, including groceries, clothing and adding up every expense, including getting gas, before you depart. Make the goal to spend only that much money and maybe even under, if possible. This will give you an idea of how much money you should spend. Then, you know beyond a shadow of doubt, if you exceed this amount, something went wrong or an expense was not included. You will get better at this every time you do it.

Make detailed lists of all of the items that you will be shopping for, on your shopping trip! This top ten New Year's resolution for shoppers will help you add up the correct budget for your trip. The important thing is to remember every item and add it up, before leaving! Include any fees, gas and fast food. You will be surprised at how much you buy that is usually not on your normal shopping list.

A third good resolution for shoppers, to help make buying items cheaply, is to take advantage of coupons, newspaper offered sales and percentage off coupons. Get the store's sale paper and read it! Use the coupons included, if you can!

My fourth shopper's resolution is to have your friends and relatives save coupons for you that they may not use. You do the same for them. Then, each month or two, meet, mail and swap out these coupons. Start a swap coupon ring and keep it going around. Every little bit helps!

A great shoppers resolution to make is to find out when certain stores that you frequently shop in have cents off days or special days during the week that products are marked a certain percentage off. They may have senior discount days or such times and it would wise to go then.
