Why Lots of Folks Are Getting Giddy About Barack Obama
It seems a bit ridiculous that Barack Obama is getting so much serious excitement about his likely 2008 Presidential run. (Forget that it is abnormally early for all of these candidates to be popping up...but let's face it-- we have a lousy, unpopular President, and people want to think about who's out there that could replace this guy). Mr. Obama was a state senator just a few years ago and would probably still be one were it not for an extremely timely sex scandal involving the incumbent Senator's saucy wife during his Illinois Senate campaign in 2004. Come on, the Republicans threw a carpet-bagging Alan Keyes into that campaign with about three months left, and everyone knows you need an inappropriate Borat movie interview to warm up to Alan Keyes.Mr. Obama has been a Senator for about two years and there are a lot of people who are absolutely bursting with excitement about the possibility of him being our next President. Despite his obvious inexperience and the extraordinary odds against him, I find myself also developing a borderline man-crush on the guy. For a while, it confused me and I had absolutely no idea why I liked him so much, but after hearing his Larry King commentary on Bush's troop surge speech of January 10th, I've pinpointed the reason exactly: The man sounds reasonable. And that's what our country really wants right now.

I find it amusing to go back & read articles like this one. It, like so many like it, appears so silly after just a few months of experience with President Obama. Michael Breslow's first comment about it being ridiculous to be so excited about Obama's candidacy was spot on, but he couldn't just leave it there. Now, as Obama buries the country in mountains of debt and squanders lives in Afghanistan, he shows just how ridiculous it was to put such an inexperienced, leftist ideologue in charge of this great country. I hope by the tine he's through with it, the country will still be in the great category. Michael Breslow, Chris Mathews, & the rest of the Obama fawning press fans just can not find it in themselves to look objectively at Mr. Obama and see what a mess he promised to make and how well he's followed through on that promise.

If I went on about how much I agree with you, it would sound like gushing. Not that gushing is an entirely inappropriate response to the best thing to happen to America since John F. Kennedy. Nice piece.
This is about American Freedom.I'm a Black American. And this Election couldn't of happened at a better time, when it has been most popularly talked about throughout the whole 8 years of the Bush Administration. Now it has finally happened. "American Freedom" No more need to be said.
But check this out, it does create a positive change among Blacks, where Race is no longer a defactor anymore. And erasing away the stereotypes that has created deep down resentment within the Blacks, that had made the Whites fearful for being around the Blacks, in recent years.. Now everybody is opening up and getting along with each other.You know what I mean?.And at the sam time, it motivates the Blacks, where they no longer feel inferior. And makes them want to go off to College, and be something. Instead of hanging around the streets. You know what I mean? That is what positive change is all about. Barack Obama to me is most certainly the best Presidential choice in this election.
Most Americans agree Obama would be and no doubt will be the next President. This gives me great comfort in a world which is more dangerous now in many ways. At a time when America needs someone who I believe will make the right choices in a difficult time on issues which affect most Americans could only be Obama.
One of the most telling things about this election is the faces of ignorance; the willingness to say untruths about a man who clearly wants the best for America. Obama is patriot and to say otherwise is clearly said by one who has nothing of substance to offer or feels threatened that ignorance no longer has a place or an excuse to issue an announcement of self existence.

It is painful to be a Republican knowing MCain and Palin has lost this election.

HOLD ON A SEC
the last time we voted for change ... we got a democratic controlled congress and senate 2 years ago. You've heard Obama say we need a change from the last 8 years. Do some homework people ... 2 years ago "we" were generally happy with things ... we got democratic "change" and I ask you ... are you happier now than you were 2 years ago? Give it some serious consideration as opposed to blowing it off. A. The current bad is the result of 2 years of Democratic controlled government and B) CHANGE isn't always for the better. for example ... today you're employeed, tomorrow things change ... your employer has had his taxes go up and he can't afford to retain his entire staff so you are terminated. That's change, it sucks and its waiting for you if Obama is elected.
