1. Guns N Roses - Chinese Democracy - Please understand me. If Axyl Rose had been putting out albums for the last 20 years under the name "Guns N' Roses," with lukewarm public and critical response to each one, as many older rockers who are circling the drain tend to do, then Chinese Democracy would not have made this list. However, that was not the case. Axyl Rose built up this album for freakin' ever, and the fact that it sounds mediocre makes it arguably the worst rock release of 2008. Each guitar chord sounds outdated, Rose's whine has become intolerable, and nothing on Chinese Democracy would sound out of place 20 years ago, when the damn thing should have come out.
