I watched the President's State of the Union Address tonight in the comfort of my home, with my husband by my side, my nephew, Nick, preparing for school tomorrow, and my son, Will, tucked away upstairs in his bed. We all feel safe, our debts are paid up for the month, our stomachs full of the supper Nick, Will, and I prepared together as a family. We're all grateful for the opportunity to have the freedom to sit and watch our government speak out about important issues facing our country on our television. Listening to the President gave us a sense of hope for the future of our country. He provided a great plan of action to improve certain aspects of our country, to include fuel consumption, energy conservation, fighting global warming, improving immigration reform, cutting overspending by the government, tax reliefs, protecting the rights of innocent people all over the world, helping third world countries fight diseases, making health care affordable, and more importantly making decisions to remove our country's budget deficit in five years and winning the war on terror. On all accounts, we are in agreement with his views and the plan he put on the table. He has taken accountability for the mistakes he made in Iraq and now proposes a new plan of action to correct those mistakes.
