Redecorating your living room for a more country style can be done easily. Not to mention very cheaply. You can work mostly with a lot of what you probably already have. You will need to buy somethings just not much. Here are some cheap ways to add a country style to your living room easily and cheaply.

Lets first start with talking about the couch and chairs in your living room. If they do not have a country style to them don't worry you do not need to buy new ones. Just take a quilt or some cozy little throws and place them over the back. Do not place them formally onto the back of your couch or chair but more like throw them on to the backs. This will give your living room a touch of country.

The wood of the furniture in your living room can add a touch of country also. For a country effect in your living room do not use all matching wood. Mix the wood finishes in your living room up. Try using something made of pine placed close to something made of mahogany. This will add an informal look to your room.

For an area rug you can use an area rug that you already have that does not seem to match with any patterns that you now have in your living room. I recommend for this that you buy an area rug that has a southwestern design to it. The southwestern design will add a little country appeal to your living room.

The wood trim in your home is another way that you can add some country to your living room. Instead of going with a pretty stained finished trim go with all natural instead. Put the wood trim in all natural the way in come in with out staining it. Do not apply any high gloss to it either. This natural wood will add a rustic country effect to your living room.

Plants are another way to add country to your living room. Use live plants and hang them up in the room. Also place some plants on some occasional tables that are in your living room placed into a corner or in front of a window or two. Plants not only are a good choice when redecorating your living room for a country style but they add more oxygen into the room.
