Hotel rooms in New York City do not have to cost $300 and up, although many of them do. There are some that have rooms for less than $200 and evan some for less than $100. You will not get all the amenities at the cheapest hotels in New York City, but when you are looking for the cheapest, you are not supposed to expect swimming pools and mints on the pillows. The prices can be higher during the holiday season, but they will still be below what you will find at the high end hotels.
