Quick, Effective Workouts: 15 Minutes to a New You

When it comes to exercising, most of us shudder at the thought of getting up and moving. An alarming percentage of Americans are obese and our children are following in our footsteps with the highest percentage of obese children ever. Is it because we lack the motivation or the time?

Today our world is so fast-paced, if you aren't in a constant sprint with your job, social life, and romantic life, you are going to get left behind. It seems impossible to get those 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week that could change your life. Thirty whole minutes... You can make
dinner in that time, take a shower and get ready for work, and it is about as long as your typical lunch break. Taking that amount of time for something like exercise seems daunting.

But there is a solution. A way you can be a more energized, happier, fitter you. By taking your workout down to a fifteen minute blast, you can help to tone your muscles, keep your most important organ and muscle, your heart, in great condition, and the energy boost you get afterwards is incomparable to those energy drinks you chug religiously.

So what is the best 15 minute work out? You of course want something that will get your heart pumping, your muscles toned up and maybe even to lose a few pounds, but can fifteen minutes do that? You bet! Just follow this 5-day, 15 minute schedule, and soon you will love exercising!

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:

When you do an exercise that gets your heart rate up and burns calories, it is often referred to as "cardio." Cardio is what will get you to shed those pounds and will help to keep your heart (cardio referring to the heart) healthy and strong. Whether you hop on an elliptical machine, a treadmill, or take a walk with your favorite friend (your significant other or even your precious pooch) this will all keep you and your heart healthy. Three days a week, try to do some before and after stretches and then hop on a machine or take your workout outside and get those fifteen minutes in.
