How to Get Started on Myspace.com

With the internet becoming a popular form of socializing, Myspace.com has made its name well known and holds a widespread field of users for various reasons. You can easily set up your own home page, show off pictures, meet singles, or socialize with friends you already know. Myspace.com offers several options, and for the myspace.com virgin or even a computer illiterate person it can be easy to get started and jump right into the myspace.com ever expanding world, if you know what to do and where to go.

To begin, you simply go to Myspace.com and click on SIGN UP! You will then be prompted to enter your typical information (email address, name, etc.) and create a password. (You are required to be 14 to open a myspace.com. If you are under 14, you should get your parents permission. You should never lie about your age to open an account that filters by using an age limit.)

Next, you can create your profile. All of these steps can be skipped and done later, and you can change everything at any time. The first choice you have is to upload a photo. You can upload as many as you want. If you only upload one photo, that will be your 'default'; meaning when people look at your profile, that picture will be displayed. (If you upload more than one photo, the first picture you upload will be your default. You can change your default picture by going to 'edit photos' on your home page.)

You can skip for now if you don't wish to upload a photo, or have none to upload. Next, you are given a screen to invite friends. If you have friends that are also myspace.com virgins, and you would like to invite them to join along with you... you enter their e-mails and Myspace.com sends them an invite for you. (You have the option of including a message with this invite.)

Again, this is optional, and can be done at any time. Once you have finished this step or skipped it, you are on your home page. This is where most people get lost. Your home page will look rather plain compared to others if you have already looked at other profiles.
