The 10 Greatest Military Achievements

Military Buffs Must Agree!

Conflict between two or more groups of people has come to be known as physical violence. War involves conflict which is a violent confrontation involving many individuals. They often combine into military campaigns known as battles. The battles often are led by generals who are aged
seasoned veterans. They are officers who have served decades in the military possessing knowledge and skill in logistics, military courtesy and history, strategy, organization, tactics and weapons which will be significant when counteracting and understanding the foe in battle.

Many generals have come and gone, some have become famous (for instance American Colonialist General George Washington in the Revolutionary War) because of daring feats, while others had nothing to celebrate (for instance Mexican General Santa Anna of the Mexican-American War.) other than embarrassment and defeat. In addition to that, military or non-military inventors are the unsung heroes which may go unknown. They are responsible for the inventing and up grading of weapons of war. Through out the history of the world, it is surely noted that the most advanced areas with weapons which revolutionized warfare have gone on to more victorious conquest.

Listed here are the top 10 achievements which influenced military warfare the greatest. They are 1.}the atomic bomb, 2.)gun powder, 3.)the musket rifle, 4.)The tank, 5.)the airplane, 6.)the submarine, 7.)the military formation, 8.)sailing ships, 9.)the chariot, and 10.)the cannon.

The atomic bomb is less powerful than the hydrogen bomb, but 2 of them destroyed 2 cities on August 6, 1945 and August 9, 1945 named Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. The atomic bomb became the most powerful weapon ever made from the minds of the greatest scientists Fermi, Einstein, Heisenberg, Teller, Oppenheimer, and Szilárd. Over 200,000 lives were lost and countless deaths from the exposed radiation killed some survivors. The atomic bomb droppings ended the most brutal war ever fought in human history. The atomic bombs ushered in the atomic age in the world.

Methinks the bomb has influenced international affairs more than war. After all, it has only been used twice in combat, and both in the same singular instance.

Machine guns came later. The musket rifle was more important because it changed the face of battles in the known world. The military formation was created and dominated forms of battles the world over.

You have an interesting list, i would agree with everything on it exept i would get rid of the military formation and add guerilla warfare tactics for after US defeated UK in the independence war, some battles only 5 Americans died to 500 Brits, this cause a huge shift in military tactics still in wide use today. Also, id get rid of cannons & put the machine gun behing the rifle & infront of the canoon, why? The machine gun brought the neccesity of tanks and trensh warfare, tanks where invented to counter the horrific trensh warfare used during WWI. The rest id agree on.

Maybe they could have reverted back to bow and arrow. It was the best ballistical weapon. I would take the bow and arrow over a sling shot any day. XD

Great article. Very interesting. A question....do you think that 18th century era armies could've reverted BACK to the bow-and-arrow w/ some effect? Once soldiers stopped wearing armor, it seems like the bow-and-arrow could've come back. Muskets, after all, didn't have that good of range - until rifles came out.
