Why Not Take a Spring Break Road Trip

Spring break is very quickly approaching and many parents are probably thinking of what fun thing they can do with their kids. One thing that many people don't seem to do much of anymore is take road trips. You are probably thinking that a long period of time in any vehicle with your kids is a lot to deal with. It can however be a very fun experience for the entire family, and give you plenty of time to get closer as a family. There are plenty of great places that you can visit using your vehicle or a rental. For example if you live on or near the east coast you can take a drive to Canada to see the sights. If planned properly a road trip really can be a lot of fun.

First you should have at least several specific destinations in mind. The younger your children are the more frequently you will have to stop, so make sure that you keep this in mind when planning your trip. If you have very young children you will probably need to stop every two to three hours. When planning out your route pick out some fun spots, such as a miniature golf course, or maybe a fishing site in the area that you happen to be in. If you are going to be in an area where a mall is, why not stop there and do a little shopping. Another suggestion is to try and look up a few educational areas to visit. Remember that just because it may be educational does not mean that it will be burning. There are plenty of museums and places to visit that you and your family might just find very interesting. Give everyone a vote in what locations you stop at. First you can come up with a list of all of the fun or interesting things to do along the way, and then have everyone pick out the things that they would really enjoy doing. This way everyone will be able to do something that they really want to do, and it will make for a very memorable spring trip.
