I was searching for jobs on-line when I came across not one, but about six pages worth of paid to read emails sites. Thinking that this might be a good way to make a little extra cash, I decided to go for it.

I went through the not so long sign up process and waited patiently for my first email. I was in for a complete shock.
Not only did I receive one email but my mail in-box was filled so much that my hands started to become tired when I tried deleting them. I ended up deleting everything in my mailbox because of this.

I thought that maybe I should just start opening them up and reading them. It took me almost two hours to rummage through all of the emails and by the time that I was getting close to the finish line, up popped five more emails.

I was becoming outraged. I just let it thinking that I would just clear it out the next and then unsubscribe to the site. I woke up the next day to find over four hundred emails in my in-box. I was mad. I tried to unsubscribe, just to find out that it can take them up to a month to take you off of their list. I was going to have to live with this for an entire month and it has only been two days and I can verily live with it now.

It has been nearly two months since I unsubscribe and I am still receiving emails in my in-box. Along with those emails also came a huge collection of spam mail. I then received a virus in my computer that had pretty much laid my computer down to rest.

After going through all of this I found out that I had made a total of eighteen cents off of the paid to read emails sites. Eighteen cents didn't even pay for the electricity I was using let alone the virus that corrupted my computer. I wish I knew who came up with these sites. I would defiantly have to give him a piece of my mind.

I have learned a valuable lesson through all of this though. You can't get rich quick and there is no such thing as easy money.

Yeah, I've heard of these and heard they are huge scams.

Sorry you went through this, Rosa. I also read e-mails, but I open up several at a time and then minimise them while writing or doing something els. I soon get through them. Sophie

I had to come back and tell you that I fell for another one. I don't know why I did it but I did. I can't get them out of my email inbox. Why did I not listen to you?

Thanks for the heads up -- I'd wondered about there -- now I'll not give them another thought!

It's not really the owner's fault but more less due to lack of caring. They should be more precise when they check who they are selling their name too. I would defiantly be mad if one of my clients sent out something like this to one of my loyal workers.

I have tried these paid to read emails too and I don't like them. I didn't get a ton of emails or a virus from them but I think they are a waste of time when I can be blogging or writing on here. I have learned my lesson too and even wrote a post on my blog with my opinion about them. I will never again sign up for anything like this. This is terrible you got a virus from this. I don't know what the owners of these sites gets out of doing things like this to people.

I have wondered about this type of money making as well. Thanks for the info. It sounds as if you have saved me much time and aggravation.

Noticed email reading job postings. As a high school vocation teacher, I am always looking for new leads on student jobs. Thank you for sharing your experience - and your warnings. Won't be recommending any computer-friendly students to try that job.

Yes! It's so good that you posted something about these. So many of us think we can at least make a couple of dollars a month, but not so. I certainly wasn't expecting to make a viable income from it, but...to be spending hours each week filtering through ads to earn a couple of cents is NOT worth it. At least with spam, I can block and delete it quickly. Great article! (I found this from the forums, by the way.) Good job.

I also tried this and found that it is very hard to make any money and really is not worth it at all.
