Cave of the Mounds is near Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. The Cave of the Mounds is a National Natural Landmark and has theatrical lighting enhancing a variety of brilliantly colored stalactites and stalagmites. The Cave of the Mounds has cave pools to see and pillars. At the Cave of the Mounds you can see a short film that explains the history of the cave. A concrete walkway takes you into this cave. This cave has a steady temperature of about 50 degrees all year long so if you go to see the cave be sure to dress appropriately. If you get to see the Cave of the Mounds be sure to take some time to see the rock gardens and the gemstone mine. A fossil dig and a picnic area are also at the Cave of the Mounds.
