Extreme and Gross Ways to Save Money
Everyone would like to save a bit of money here and there. We would all like to figure out ways to spend less money. Some of us do things such as use coupons, go out to eat less, put a brick in your toilet, and the like. We all know about these ways to save money, and we might even do
some of these things to do better with money. But if you've done all of these things, and still want to cut back, here are some rather extreme ways to cut back even after you have thought you could cut back no more. Warning, these tips border on gross and disgusting.
First, consider re-using paper towels. In a personal finance book that I read recently, there was a story about a family that reused paper towels! After they used them once, they dried them and used them again! A roll of paper towels cost a dollar, yet these people chose to reuse paper towels. It's great for the environment, but paper towels that are strange colors and dried? I can only imagine what they were using for washcloths.
Skip out on underwear and stocks. Nobody sees your underwear at all or socks for the most part, so what would happen if you just didn't wear them. Your laundry pile would get quite a bit smaller, so you would have to do fewer loads. In addition, you wouldn't have to buy socks and underwear nearly as often. Even if you are chafing or have some really smelly feet, that's okay, you're saving money, right?
Throw away your phones. The only reason that we have telephones, land-line or cell-phones, is so that people can get in touch with us. Chances are sometimes we could use some less people bugging us, so throw them away. If you need to make a call, go to the nearest payphone and use some change. You'll definitely spend less money now!
Cut back on showers. All the amount of money that you spend on soap, shampoo, water, and sewer bills adds up over time. Chances are you won't be going out to eat anytime soon, because you'll be kicked out any restaurant you try to enter. You don't have to stop showering all together, but one a week might save you a lot of money.
