Edmonton acts as a center of many huge festivals each year, hence from here is its local nickname- "The Festival City." Each summer, Downtown Edmonton's Churchill Square hosts countless festivals.

There are many important events. One of them is called "The Works Art & Design Festival", held between the late days of June and the beginning of July, showcasing Canadian and worldwide art and patterns from famous reputable performers in cooperation with rising and undergraduate artists.

The world-famous Edmonton International Street Performer's Festival is held in mid-July and presents travel uncover performers from all around the earth. The Edmonton major fiesta during the summer season is known as capital EX (in preceding times the days of Klondike or K-Days).
