Have you found that you are always going to or coming from somewhere? Do you feel like you are moving from one place to the next without taking the time to smell the roses? It seems as if there is a wave of business in society, and it's becoming an epidemic. Most people just seem to find it difficult to make time to sit down, relax and unwind. They think that relaxing will make them less productive, but people who are working all the time are much less productive in the longer time that they use. If you take time to relax and get yourself centered, you will be able to be much more effective in what you do. Take this challenge. Slow down a bit so that you can connect with yourself and change the pattern in your life. If you want to achieve what you were meant to achieve, you have to take some time to smell the roses. Consider doing some of these things to let yourself unwind and relax.
Take a two minute break every hour at work. Stretch and take a few deep breaths so that you don't become so focused on your work that you can consider nothing else.
When you are showering, place your intention for the day and tell yourself affirmations in your mind. Keep your mind focused on the experience of showering and its relaxing qualities rather than letting your mind wander about work.
When you get up in the morning and crawl out of bed, take a minute our two to enjoy life think about how productive and wonderful of a day that you are going to have. You will only have a bad day if the world lets you. You are control of your attitude, and no one else.
At the end of the day, do some deep breathing and imagine that all of your stress is melting away. It's flowing into a helium balloon that is floating away.
When you are in bed and right before you fall asleep, imagine that you are in a very peaceful and beautiful place, such as a mountain, a beech or a grassy knoll.
Take a half hour or so every other day and just go out on a walk. It's great exercise and will allow you to enjoy the beauty of nature and avoid lingering thoughts about work.
