Wade Rowland Sanders Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charge

Attorney Who Served in Clinton Administration Admits to 600 Porn Images

Wade Rowland Sanders has pleaded guilty to having 600 images of prepubescent children downloaded to his computer, some of them graphically sexual pictures.

CNN.com's article, "Child porn investigation catches California lawyer," goes on to report that what makes Wade Rowland Sanders different than many of the other thousands of pedophiles is the fact that he worked for the Clinton administration and more recently was an advisor to California's lieutenant governor.

Sanders is typical of a child porn offender. He is highly regarded and even sits on a board overseeing the San Diego Police Department.

One of the girls in Sanders' stash has been identified as a "victim" meaning that she has been part of a prosecution process.

Sanders, 67, was nabbed as a result of a relatively new program called Project Safe Child which is a multi-agency program to protect children from abuse and internet porn.

The errant attorney is facing a possible ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced March 30.

Pedophiles are people who get some arousal from prepubescent children. Their numbers are unknown and as reported in Wikipedia "Pedophilia," there is a high rate of repeat offenses at about 60% and from other sources I've read personally, that may be a little low.

When I was growing up, I lived in a very tough neighborhood where there were a lot of single-parent families. Many times there would be older teens that were a little "weird" who would try and hang around the little girls in our neighborhood. We formed a "gang" to keep an eye on them and we still failed on a couple of occasions. It always seemed to turn out that these kids had been abused.

As with so many things our country is hypocritical.

The Child Pornography Prevention Act of 1996 was passed to protect children from the dangers of the internet. However, in 2002 there was a court case, Ashcroft vs. Free Speech Coalition, in which the Act was overturned. The "Free Speech Coalition" was the California adult entertainment industry. The court gave in saying that prepubescent pornography was and is a known fact of society.

So is murder.
