Brett Favre: Is the Jets the Final Season?

How the Packers Faired Without Brett Favre

Brett Favre has moved on to the New York Jets. But soon questions will remain as to what will happen to him. In the last games of the regular season the New York Jets have looked bad. They lost to bad teams and Brett Favre really struggled and threw a lot of interceptions.

On the other hand, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers took his team nowhere. The Packers will likely end the season 6-11
while the Detroit Lions will end at 0-16.

Questions will remain as to why Brett Favre left the Green Bay Packers. He should have stayed in Green Bay argue many fans. Other thinks going to New York was a good choice. Some think letting Chad Pennington go to Miami was the better choice.

When push comes to shove, it is tough to say where Brett Favre should have gone. He made the pro bowl again in 2008 but even so he just didn't have it together in the cold weather games. The Jets had the most pro bowlers of any team this season. They had a total of 7. If Brett Favre was in Green Bay he likely would not have been amongst such talent.

The Green Bay Packers ended the season in terrible conditions. If Brett Favre was around he could have been the difference maker that helped the Packers win those 7 games where the lost by 4 or fewer points. He also could have thrown a lot of picks and it would have been hopeless. The problem with the Packers was not the offense this season in 2008, but that of the defense. Therefore, Brett really would not have been a large factor.

The New York Jets have won a lot more games with Brett at the controls than with Chad. Brett Favre should just retire and go home and enjoy life. It is unlikely he will ever make a super bowl again as the starting quarterback. You only get so many years of health before your body goes astray. Brett Favre wants to be remembered as a great legend in Green Bay and in doing so he should just retire and call it quits. He accomplished a lot, but maybe not everything he wanted to. Well, he should just take that in stride and learn that he still has life to live for. He is among the lucky ones who had his health for all those years and was able to start hundreds of NFL football games.
