The Benefits of Hot Water

Hot Water? You might be wondering why someone would write an article about it. It might seem like a strange choice to you. Let me tell you though, I have been living without hot water for nearly two years now! So to someone like me hot water is a very important subject that would be interesting to talk about.

In Panama there aren't too many people with hot water. Why you ask? Well there is the fact that Panama is a tropical country that is nearly always hot in most parts. So it would make sense to not use hot water because who would want to? When you sweat all the time the idea of pouring more heat onto your body is an unbearable thought!

I live in a different part of Panama however. I live in the mountains where it is cold for most of the year. I sleep with a comforter and I use a sweater most of the time during rainy season. That being said I still don't have hot water! For the people here it's normal to shower in freezing cold mountain water. Now for one who grew up in Texas like me, hot showers are greatly valued.

Things have hit the desperation point and I am now willing to wait half an hour for a pot of water to heat up on the stove. I take that and mix it with cold water to get a perfect temperature and have been taking bucket baths like that for a very long time now.

So why do I write this little article? I write it for all of you who have hot water and are able to enjoy it every day. The next time you take a hot shower think about what a wonderful life you have! There are people around the world who would love to possess the ability to use hot water whenever they desired. That blessing has been given to you! Be thankful!

One day I'm going to buy a water heater for my house. I will most likely hit the breaking point and just have to do it. Yes there are water heaters for sale here, but they are a little bit expensive. So I'm saving up to buy one! I am a pretty easy person to make happy but hot water is one thing that I need eventually. So for now I continue to bring water to a boiling point in a large pot and dream of times past.
