Lisa Steenson, Lori Dieda, and Gut Busting Games
"Trailer Park Wars" and "Redneck Life" Plus Gaming in General
I visited a game and hobby shop last night, and there were the usual games that are good games, but old hat. The ones that are about various trivial matters, party games, and so forth make up one genre, whereas feudal days, underground worlds, variousWe wanted something new and different in a game that a whole family, and not some 8-hour a day game-playing freak or half-drunk party-animal would want
Oddly enough, we found it. Trailer Park Wars was developed by (and I was surprised at this) two women, Lisa Steenson and Lori Dieda. I wanted to visit their website at www.gutbustingames.com but their bandwidth is exceeded (due to the unexpected popularity of their product?). So I tried to visit their website for their earlier game Redneck Life, at www.rednecklife.us.com. Same thing!
These games are hot items! Now there are themes that, if one poked fun at them, you might get death threats. But the nice thing about these games, which ostentatiously poke fun at so-called rednecks is that rednecks love the publicity! It's fun, after all. That is why I couldn't resist when I saw a copy of Trailer Park Wars on the shelf. It appealed to my lighter side. Who doesn't love Ma and Pa Kettle, Hee-Haw, the Beverly Hillbillies, and Dukes of Hazzard? Who doesn't at least occasionally sneak a peak at something on the Country channel?
Isn't it every man's (or apparently woman's) dream to one day own a trailer park? Complete with amenities you won't find anywhere else? Now watch out for them surface-to-trailer missiles, Molotov beer cans, and tornadoes! They might present problems. For your competitor trailer parks. HAH! And the best part is that for payment for all your hard work you get some lovely pink flamingoes!
But Trailer Park Wars was the second game put out by Lisa and Lori. The first game, Redneck Life, is fascinating, too. The goal is to make it to the family reunion. All kinds of good things happen along the way. Watch out for that cow pie! Be careful or you'll get your tongue frozen to a pole. Take one of them beer cards. The one who has the most teeth left at the end of the game wins!
