Ten New Years Resolutions for the Typical College Student

As I look at the year 2008, I look back and look over all the things I've done. I'm a college student, and now that a new year is starting, here are my New Year's Resolutions.

Clean up a bit more. My room was never a total mess in my apartment, but it could definitely be neater and cleaner. In the year 2009, I'm going to try and keep my room spotless and as clean as possible.

Stay more organized with school. This semester I did well in my classes, but I could of done better. I had a problem of whenever I came home, I just threw my books on the bed and never really put it away neatly. Due to this, I lost a bunch of notes and materials I had for class. I'm going to make or buy a small book shelf and organize myself a lot better this year.

Eat healthier. McDonald's and Taco Bell was my diet mostly this last semester in school. It was terrible. I got sick and my body didn't appreciate it that well. I promised myself that I'm going to try and eat more at home, and eat better nutritious foods.

Save gas money. I do own a car, and I drove it too much. I live literally across the street from my college, and walk to class. I don't need to be driving it as much used to. My goal is to see if one full tank will last me at least 2 weeks.

Save money on groceries. Enough buying name brand food, when the off-brand is the same exact thing! I'm going to buy less name brand food to save money, and acquire more food.

Save more. Bottom line, I didn't save nearly enough money as I should of. I'm going to try and deposit at least $50.00 a paycheck to my savings account. This will come in handy in the future and it will teach me responsibility.

Exercise. Ever since I have left High School, I didn't exercise like I used to. I just never think I have time. This year though, I'm going to stay in shape and be healthy. To motivate myself to work out, I signed up for a work out class at my school. It's going to give me a grade, and make myself feel better.

Study. I have always studied lots in college, but I need to study more no doubt. My goal is to get a 4.0 this semester, and that is going to require for me to study study and study some more.
